FROM THE 45TH: Songs We Listened To

Several lists were compiled from your answers in the 45th questionaire. So, between now and the reunion, I'll add a YouTube link for some of the Songs We Listened To -- about one a week. (Click on 'oursongs' in the labels underneath the posts for all of them on one page.)

In the first few weeks, we'll hear from The Platters, Elvis, Fats Domino, Johnny Mathis and the Penquins. Can you guess the Top Ten songs we loved the most?!!!

OUR NUMBER ONE: Only You. The Platters

ANNETTE, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. YOUR BLOG IS BACK IN MY LIFE!! TRIVIA QUESTIONS: WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE PLATTERS LEAD SINGER? WAS THERE A GIRL IN THE ORIGINAL PLATTERS? DO YOU KNOW THE NAME OF THE ACTRESS SITTING AT THE TABLE IN THE VIDEO? BETTY

Hey, Betty
I don't know a lot of trivia, but I can Google. hehe. I found this at Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Platters
The original group members were Alex Hodge, David Lynch, Joe Jefferson, Gaynel Hodge, Herb Reed and original lead Cornell Gunther. It appears that the original group did not have a girl singer, but when they changed management, the lineup became lead tenor Tony Williams, David Lynch, Paul Robi, Herb Reed, and girl singer Zola Taylor.

Okay, what were their three songs in "American Graffiti" the movie?

I'm guessing, but I think the girl at the table is Debra Paget.
