Don't Leave Out the Boys

I got this email from Dessey Kuhlke.

Dear Annette:
How about a boy's day out , or a class day out. I miss all of our class mates.
Dessey

Sounds interesting. I think the girls day out started with a few folks saying let's just plan lunch. It has grown as others have joined in.

Hum, I would go to a boy's day out lunch! or a classmates lunch. Wonder if anyone else is interested?

Girl's Day Out

For a while now, classmates from Atlanta, Augusta and parts all around have been meeting for lunch. The location changes and the approximately three-month interval is irregular.

Today, the group of twelve met at Stevie B's Pizza, Pasta and Salad Bar on Bobby Jones Expressway in Augusta at the recommendation of Emily Stevens Baumann (at left with Helen Gnann Byars). We were all delighted to get the senior rate and the pizza was yummy.

Thanks to an email from Jane Bass Moxley(on right with me on the left.) We all knew when and where to go. If you want to be on Jane's email list, send her your stuff. < jbmoxley@aol.com >

Mary Gahnz Usher and Martha Tallman Buck in a serious discussion.

I've included some of the best photos. I'm sorry I missed a couple of people or made them fuzzy.

Others present were Judy Little Murphey and Caroline Bell Jones. Ann Walker and Janice McDonald represented class of 60.

Soon it was time to say goodbye. It was a fun day. We hope others will get on the list and join us.

BTW, We heard that Joe and Donna Andrews Pittman and Maxie and Judy Stubbs Terry have booked the same Alaska cruise -- hope more info is coming when they return.

What It's All About

Who would have thought that a class reunion would generate as much fun and enthusiasm as our 45th? We just thought we'd have it and gather a few more names in preparation for the 50th. Well. It has grown like Topsy.

Our pre-reunion barbecue at the Murphey farm in Trenton is now an annual event which is hosted by Robert (58) and Judy(59). A committee works year-round to tweak the plans, include new classes and make it better than ever. More than 750 were on the list for 2006 and classes from 1954-196o came out to get "Lost In the Fifties."

Our class committee has worked hard to find missing classmates, keep lists of deceased and spread the word when an old classmate has moved down the street. I'll try to keep track with your help. I'll post obituaries, new addresses and updates, meeting announcements, and calls for Help! I'll use photos when I have them and ask others to write messages about their committees. Each post will be available in the archives if you miss something. We are looking forward to the BIG Five O!
